Caregivers or service providers with children in their care seeking behavioral support services, referrals, or training, visit KFSC! You may qualify for a scholarship for services like the OASIS Parent Training and OASIS Direct Service Provider Training.

KFSC and Partner Trainings

The Kansas Family Support Center and our partners offer a variety of training opportunities to best support caregivers and families of children with autism, intellectual or developmental disabilities (I/DD), behavioral support needs, and mental health conditions. The below information outlines the trainings offered. 

OASIS Parent Training

The OASIS Parent Training Program (offered in English and Spanish) is a 16-24 week long program. During the program, you will complete web-based informational modules, and you and your child will attend weekly sessions in-person or via telehealth with an OASIS Parent Coach. You will:

  • Learn to apply evidence-based skills with your child
  • Receive instruction and support on how to promote independence, gain compliance, and teach your child appropriate replacement skills for problem behaviors
  • Learn strategies to advance your child’s social and academic skills, encourage generalization of new skills, and maintain learned skills.
  • Learn techniques on developing effective methods of interacting and playing with your child.

The Kansas Family Support Center and our partners offer a variety of training opportunities to best support providers and professionals who work with families of children with autism, intellectual or developmental disabilities (I/DD), behavioral support needs, and mental health conditions. The below information outlines the trainings offered. 

Direct Service Provider Training

The OASIS Direct Service Provider (DSP) Training gives trainees various levels of knowledge and understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis. This training is formatted with an online component and an interactive lecture/clinical experience. The DSP training offered meets the State of Kansas’ training requirements. Participants who complete the training will receive a certificate of completion.

Behavior Specialist (Autism Specialist) Training

The OASIS Behavior Specialist training gives trainees in depth knowledge and understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis. This training is currently formatted entirely online with an interactive lecture/clinical experience. This training offered meets the State of Kansas’ training requirements for an Autism Specialist. Participants who complete the training will receive a certificate of completion.

OASIS Coach Training

Trainees with ABA experience will learn to implement a structured parent training curriculum with the families they serve. Trainees will gain experience using online training and delivering feedback to mock families. During this 3-day live virtual training, you will have the opportunity to meet the requirements to become an OASIS Parent Training Coach.
