Additional Family and Community Resources

Families Together, Inc.

Families Together, Inc. offers early intervention, education, health care, and transition services to support children, youth, and families' academic, behavioral, social, emotional, and mental well-being.

Girls Night Out

Girls Night Out (GNO) is a community-based social and self-care program for autistic and other neurodivergent girls and young women in the Kansas City metro.

HCBS Waivers

The Medicaid Home-and Community-Based Services (HCBS) waiver program allows the state of Kansas to provide different services that allow those who need care to receive services in their homes or communities. Under the HCBS waiver program, Kansas can waive certain Medicaid program requirements, allowing the state to provide supports and services for people who might not otherwise be eligible under Medicaid. Through the waivers, Kansas targets services to people who need long term services and support.

Kansas Center for Autism Research and Training (K-CART) Resource Center

The K-CART Autism Resource Center provides specialized resources on Autism Spectrum Disorder and is a place for families and practitioners to get guidance on navigating ASD resources.

Telehealth Rocks

Telehealth Rocks connects families to telehealth-based behavioral health and social services in rural Kansas.

Kansas Association of Centers for Independent Living (KACIL)

KACIL is a member organization comprising eight Centers for Independent Living (CILs) across Kansas. KACIL's member Centers provide services to people with all types of disabilities at all ages and income levels.

Autism Society of the Heartland

The Autism Society of the Heartland provides support and resources to the autism community, including grants and scholarships, information and referral services, educational workshops, and social and support groups.

Kansas Center for Autism Research and Training (K-CART)

K-CART offers evidence-based training options for behavior specialists, direct service providers, and other professionals who support individuals with autism, I/DDs, or other behavioral support needs. In addition, K-CART partners with community organizations to disseminate information, share resources, and assist in providing support to families.

Heartland Telehealth Resource Center (HTRC)

The HTRC seeks to increase the adoption of telehealth services to serve rural and underserved residents in Kansas better. The HTRC provides telehealth solutions to help care providers build sustainable telehealth programs or expand existing services.

KFSC Youtube Channel

The KFSC Youtube Channel provides resources for caregivers, families, providers, and professionals. It also houses previous webinars and ECHOs.
