Biography —
Stephanie Coleman is the Autism Family Educator in the Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics at the University of Kansas Medical Center. She supports families after an autism diagnosis through educational opportunities and works with community partners in understanding and developing ways to support individuals and families in the community. Stephanie is the Kansas Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and related Disabilities (LEND) Family Faculty Discipline Supervisor mentoring and supporting family trainees through the LEND training program at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Lastly, Stephanie developed the Kansas LEND Childcare training which provides childcare providers in Kansas education on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, so that they may be more inclusive.
Stephanie has a son, Matthew John, who is on the autism spectrum whom she proudly advocates for to have the good life he envisions along with a little 4-legged furry son, Murray who is the boss! Stephanie is a past LEND trainee, a recruiter in her previous career and holds a bachelor’s in business administration from Middle Tennessee State University.
